Bausano at GREENPLAST: New E-GO R Models Enhance Polyolefin Recycling Efficiency

Rivarolo Canavese (TO), April 3, 2025 – Bausano, a leading international player in the design and production of customized extrusion lines for plastic processing, is among the key participants in the second edition of GREENPLAST, the exhibition-conference dedicated to technologies for a more sustainable rubber and plastic supply chain. The event, scheduled from May 27 to 30 at Rho Fiera Milano, will be the ideal occasion to present the new E-GO R single-screw extruders, designed to increase the efficiency of polyolefin recycling processes. Now available in sizes 44, 47, and 50 L/D, for a total of 8 new models, they enrich the range with even more high-performance solutions.

Technology at the service of the circular economy: E-GO R grows in power and efficiency

The E-GO R series combines the most advanced extrusion and pelletizing technologies for the recycling of polyolefins, such as HDPE, LDPE, and PP, derived from industrial and post-consumer waste. To support partners in the transition to a circular economy, Bausano expands its offering with extruders capable of handling higher throughput. Specifically, the new generation of E-GO R, ranging from 45/37 to 210/37 L/D, can process up to 1,500-1,800 kg/h of non-flowing material and 1,700-2,000 kg/h of flowing material.

The ideal solution for moist materials

E-GO R extruders are ideal for recycling lightweight materials with a moisture content of 5-6%. Thanks to a high-performance double degassing system, residual moisture and volatile substances are removed during the process, thus preventing the formation of defects in the granule, such as “air bubbles,” caused by gases present in the starting mixture or generated during extrusion.

E-GO R stands out for the high quality of the extruded product, a result of Bausano’s consolidated expertise in screw design. The geometry of each screw is designed ad hoc to prevent the material fed into the extruder from undergoing excessive mechanical stress, which could cause degradation phenomena of the molten compound.

Custom accessories and end-of-line solutions for unparalleled performance

An additional advantage of the solution is the dosing system, designed according to the specific characteristics of the material. Specifically, Bausano offers a system composed of two hoppers, the first with a flat bottom and volumetric feeding, and the second with forced feeding, which compacts the material before extrusion. Finally, the line is completed by the liquid ring or immersion cutting system.

“To achieve the objectives of the most recent PPWR – Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation – approved on April 24, 2024, industry players are called to invest in efficient solutions capable of reintegrating highly contaminated plastic materials into the production cycle, often characterized by high levels of moisture and impurities post-washing,” comments Marco Masiero, R&D and Test Extrusion Manager at Bausano. “In this scenario, Bausano positions itself as a strategic partner, capable of accompanying companies in this transition. We are able to promptly respond to the new needs of the sector, thanks to a portfolio that is now even richer and a concrete expression of the added value that has always distinguished Bausano’s offering.”
