Bosch Rexroth, part of the Bosch Group and a specialist in integrated technologies for industrial automation and mobile machinery handling, is committed to promoting sustainable mobility, focusing in particular on the hydrogen industry.
Indeed, with its range of hydrogen solutions, the company aims to facilitate fast and safe refueling for hydrogen-powered vehicles, thereby contributing to the reduction of carbon emissions.
“Bosch Rexroth has developed servohydraulic drives for piston compressors and cryopumps that can operate efficiently and precisely, achieving high pressures of up to 900 bar, which are necessary for refueling vehicles, “ the company explained directly.
To support the growing deployment of hydrogen refueling stations, expected to increase by 2030, the company also announced collaboration with strategic partners such as FirstElement Fuel. And together they have created an advanced cryopump that can refuel heavy vehicles with 100 kilograms of hydrogen in just 10 minutes.
“The cryopump, expected at new stations starting in 2025, will eliminate the need for temporary storage tanks, offering direct and rapid refueling.”
Bosch Rexroth: not just hydrogen
The Bosch Rexroth portfolio also includes other hydrogen compression solutions, covering diverse applications from forklifts in logistics centers to commercial vehicles. Bosch Rexroth’s drive systems, based on robust and compact hydrostatic components, save space and ensure continuous high performance.
Bosch Rexroth is also active along the entire hydrogen value chain, handling production, compression, and storage. By 2030, the Bosch Group aims to generate about five billion euros from this business segment, supported by substantial investments of 500 million euros per year from 2021 to 2026 to develop innovative hydrogen-related technologies.
