Container and product handling systems play a key role in ensuring the high production efficiency of any bottling and packaging line.
Linear discharge accumulation table from the DAT range (acronym for Discharge Accumulation Table) supplied by SMI – one of the world’s largest producers of bottling plants and packaging machines – is particularly suitable for receiving, transporting and offloading a wide range of shaped containers (rectangular, square or oval).

INFEED SECTION

At the infeed, the product arrives on the conveyor belt in single lane, spaced out and without pressure, thanks to a sorting conveyor that preserves its quality during handling. The infeed conveyor belt is equipped with a 90° translation system, made up of a pair of belts with modular chain and rubberized surface to protect the products and accompany them towards the accumulation table.

CENTRAL SECTION

In the central part, the DAT works as a multi-way belt made up of several lanes side by side (the length and the number vary according to the size of the containers and the amount of accumulation product required by the blower and the filler). The products are fed to the DAT one lane at a time; one lane enters and one exits. In the case of a downstream stop, a first batch of containers enters the DAT to complete the first lane of the belt. Then other batches enter, occupying the remaining lanes of the DAT.

OUTFEED SECTION

At the outfeed, the product discharge conveyor belt receives the containers from the accumulation table, and, without any stops, sends them to the single-lane belt and the packaging linedownstream. In normal operating conditions, the system discharges the lane that enters while, in case of downstream stops, discharges one lane at a time, till the DAT is completely empty.
