LIX Polymers presents its 2022 Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility Report, which includes all of the company’s environmental, social and governance achievements.
The Company’s seventh annual sustainability report has been prepared based on the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) Universal Standards. GRI is a leading independent organisation that provides a common language and framework for submitting public sustainability reports.
As part of the ELIX Polymers Sustainable Operations programme, the company has taken one step further in its commitment to incorporate sustainability criteria in its supply chain analysis by increasing the visibility, traceability and mitigation of the environmental, social and governance (ESG) risks of its suppliers as part of the company’s management system.
Moreover, to mitigate greenhouse gas emissions, ELIX has reached agreements to cover 100% of the electricity consumption of its facilities with electricity originating from sources other than fossil fuels.
ELIX Polymers also continues to expand its catalogue of E-LOOP sustainable products, which are based on raw materials that are renewable and circular. These solutions are in line with the goal of reducing the carbon footprint of its customers and they have been applied with excellent results in the Automotive, Toys and Consumer Goods sectors.
“In 2022 we reached important milestones in the development of our sustainability strategy by taking steps in our commitment to reduce our environmental impact and help in the transition towards a circular economy, as well as meet our goal of having a positive impact at the locations where we operate. This effort, with its challenges and objectives, has been shared with our stakeholders, thereby building partnerships and opportunities for collaboration that have allowed us to advance”, said David Castañeda, CEO of ELIX Polymers.
