The first edition of the Plastics Recycling Show Asia (PRS Asia) recently held at Marina Bay Sands, Singapore proved a runaway success attracting more than 2,300 attendees from across the region and beyond. Guest of Honour Dr Amy Khor, Senior Minister of State for the Ministry of Sustainability & the Environment in the Singapore Government’s cut the event’s opening ribbon and delivered the opening address to the event’s packed conference theatre before touring the exhibition floor.

“I am excited to witness the innovations and initiatives that will emerge from this event,” said Dr Amy Khor. “We can set higher standards, inspire industries, and make a lasting impact, not only on the waste and recycling sector here in Singapore, but across Asia and beyond.”

The Waste Management and Recycling Association of Singapore (WMRAS) and Singapore Logistics Association (SLA) also signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the show formalising their collaboration designed to increase plastic recycling and reduce the overall consumption of packaging. In addition, Sankyu (Singapore) Pte Ltd and PlasPulp Union Pte Ltd signed a second MoU on collaborative efforts to develop a circular economy for logistics packaging with local recycling capabilities.

“The first edition of PRS Asia proved extremely successful in attracting the leaders from the plastics and recycling sectors across the region to showcase the latest innovative technology, share best practice, network and learn. This two-day event has already proven to be a powerful catalyst for increasing the circular use of plastics in the region,” said Matt Barber, Global Events Director of event organiser Crain Communications.

Christophe Ngo, Head of Marketing & Development, Plastics Recycling, ALBA Group Asia commented: “The enthusiasm and positive feedback we’ve received from both the public and our industry peers have been incredibly encouraging. Events like these are essential, serving as invaluable platforms to foster dialogue and inspire meaningful action toward advancing the circular economy.”

Laurent Bickert, Waste Major Projects and Commercial Development Director, at Veolia Asia said: “This event provided an ideal platform to showcase our extensive capabilities in the circular polymers market and demonstrate how we can support global brand owners in their Asian operations.”

Plastics Recycling Show Asia returns to Marina Bay Sands, Singapore from 17-18 March 2026. Plastics Recycling Shows are now being held in four global locations: Singapore, Mumbai, Dubai and Amsterdam.
